Esteban Gonzalez

Esteban Gonzalez, age 82 of Lorain, passed away unexpectedly on July 29, 2024, at Mercy Regional Medical Center following a short illness.

Born April 1, 1942, to Emilio and Ramona (nee Rosado) Gonzalez in Jayuya, Puerto Rico, Esteban moved from Puerto Rico in 1973. He spent much of his life in Lorain and was an arborist with Willoway Nursery before retiring in 2008 after 20 years of service.

Esteban had a passion for gardening.

Surviving is his wife of 56 years, Alicia (nee Ortiz) Gonzalez; children, Juan Gonzalez, Reynaldo Gonzalez and Amparo Francetic; grandchildren, Giselle Moquete and Yesenia Moquete, Rey Esteban Gonzalez and Sebastian Gonzalez as well as his great granddaughter, Ava Salem.

He was preceded in death by his parents as well as his siblings, Sergio Gonzalez, Pedro Gonzalez, Marcelino Gonzalez, Herminio Gonzalez, Inez Gonzalez, Delfina Rosario, Onesima Gonzalez, Angel Gonzalez, Leocadio Gonzalez and Eladia Gonzalez.

Mass will be held on Friday, August 9 at 9:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Chapel, 4301 Pearl Avenue, Lorain. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
