Elizabeth Ann Ransom, born October 26, 1945, in Logan County, West Virginia, passed away peacefully on February 23, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, faith, and devotion to family.
Elizabeth was the beloved daughter of the late Homer and Elizabeth Mae Wooten.
Elizabeth shared 62 beautiful years of marriage with her devoted husband, William F. Ransom. Together, they built a strong and loving family rooted in faith and commitment.
She was a proud and loving mother to Charles W. Ransom and his wife, Norma Ransom, Jerry Ransom, and Debbie Ransom. Her greatest joy in life was her family, especially her grandchildren: Josh Ransom, James Anderson, Crystal Bruce, Jeffery Ransom, Charles M. Ransom Jr., Samantha Harkless, Jennifer Ransom, Jessica Anderson, Ashley Robinson, Amber Swartz, and David Swartz Jr. Elizabeth. Elizabeth was also blessed with 14 great-grandchildren who brought immense joy to her later years. She leaves behind her dear siblings, Bonnie Bartram and Hobert Wooten, to cherish her memory.
Besides her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband in 2004, her grandson, William D. Ransom, and her siblings, Charles Peyton, Robert Peyton, Clyde Wooten, Helen (Marie) Wooten, Walter Wooten, Betty Gibson, Garland Wooten, and Shirley Mae Eldridge.
Elizabeth was a faithful servant of the Lord and attended Mallory Hollow Free Will Baptist Church in Mallory, West Virginia, and Fleming Avenue Free Will Baptist Church in Lorain, Ohio. Elizabeth will be remembered for her gentle spirit, unwavering strength, and the unconditional love she gave so freely. Elizabeth was the heart of her family — a steady presence, a prayer warrior, and a source of wisdom and encouragement to all who knew her.
Though she will be deeply missed, her love and legacy will live on through the generations she nurtured and cherished.
