Elizabeth Jacinto (nee Reyes), aged 74, of Amherst, Ohio, passed away peacefully on October 3, 2025 surrounded by her family at New Life Hospice in Lorain, following a lengthy illness.
Born on June 9, 1951, in Utuado, Puerto Rico, she spent her life as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister.
A member of Sacred Heart Chapel in Lorain, Elizabeth embraced her faith, which was an integral part of her life. She was known for her warm personality and her love for her family, particularly cherishing the moments spent with her grandchildren. An excellent cook, Elizabeth delighted in sharing meals and creating memorable family gatherings, making her home a place of love and togetherness.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 56 years, Robert Jacinto; son, Roberto (Lori) Jacinto; daughter, Selena (Javier) Candelario; sisters, Minerva (Larry) Leonard, Gladys (Dennis) Torres, Rachel Reyes, Janet Reyes; brothers, Jose Reyes, Frank Reyes, Ray Reyes; granddaughters, Jasmine Candelario, Vanessa Candelario and Miranda Candelario; grandsons, Javier Candelario Jr., Brandon Jacinto and Tyler Kulas as well as her sister-in-law, Gloria Jacinto.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents, Ines Reyes and Carmen (Alvarado) Reyes, along with her brother Tony Reyes, and her parents-in-law Salvador Jacinto and Olivia (Rodriguez) Jacinto.
Visitation will be held Thursday, October 9 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Dovin Funeral and Cremation Specialists, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain. Mass will be held at Sacred Heart Chapel, 4301 Pearl Avenue, Lorain on Friday, October 10 with the final visitation at 8:30 a.m. until the time of Mass at 9:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
