Edward F. Van Dyke, age 77, of Lorain, passed away Thursday, June 8, 2017 at Mercy New Life Hospice, Lorain, following a short illness.
 Born February 29, 1940 in Cleveland, he moved to Lorain in 1963. He worked in various departments at Ford Motor Company Lorain Assembly Plant for 30 years, retiring in 1991.
 Edward was a member of the United Auto Workers Union Local 425 and the Bush Burners CB Club. He enjoyed racing stock cars.
 Surviving is his wife of 59 years, Norma (nee Williams); sons, Edward (Amy) of Parma Heights, Dwayne and Allen (Lisa) both of Mt. Pleasant, Pennsylvania; a daughter, Deborah Frey of Lorain; 8 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren; and a brother, Sidney of Deerfield Beach, Florida.
 He was preceded in death by parents, Frederick and Doris (Hill) Van Dyke; a brother, Walter; and sisters, Deloris, Betty and Shirley; and a granddaughter, Jessica Mary Van Dyke.
 The family will receive friends on Monday from 4:00 to 8:00 pm in the Dovin Funeral and Cremation Specialists, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain, where funeral services will be Tuesday at 12:00 pm. Rev. Jenni Noyes, pastor of Heritage Presbyterian Church will officiate. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon. To send online condolences go to
