Edilberto Silva

Edilberto Silva Jr. age 46 of Hamilton, New Jersey, passed away on April 26, 2018 at Capital Health Medical Center in Pennington, New Jersey following a lengthy illness.

Born July 19, 1971 in Lorain, Ohio, he lived in Hamilton, New Jersey for the past 11 years.

He is survived by his wife of 10 years, Sonia (née Godinez); daughters, M. Patricia of Florida, Symone of New Jersey, Destiny of Ohio, and V. Sharice of New Jersey; 4 grandchildren; brothers, Jose, Rev. Gilbert, Ismael, Samuel, Mervin and Angel; sisters, Elba Ortiz and Yvette Haddix. He was preceded in death by his parents Edilberto Sr. and Francisca (nee Cortes) Silva.

Eddie was a gentle soul who through many physical ailments maintained a positive outlook and trust in God's sustaining grace. He was a great encourager who loved spending time with his family. He always found a way to stay in contact by phone with his siblings who lived out of State. He enjoyed listening to the preaching of the word of God, especially the messages online of his bother Gilbert. He also loved watching Dallas Cowboy football games. He will be deeply missed and always remembered as a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm in the House of Praise International Church, 4321 Elyria Ave., Lorain, where funeral services will be held on Thursday morning at 10:00 am. Eddie's brother, Rev. Gilbert Silva, will officiate. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst, Twp. The Dovin Funeral and Cremation Specialists in Lorain is handling the arrangements.
