Dorothy D. Sas

Dorothy D. Sas (nee Novak) 92, of North Ridgeville, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, November 11, 2017 following a lengthy illness.
Born July 10, 1925 in Lorain, she lived she lived in North Ridgeville for over 50 years. Dorothy was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking and watching her grandchildren.
She was a member of St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church, Lorain, and KSKJ Lodge 101.
Dorothy is survived by a daughter, Dolly Washburn of Clarksville; sons, Ted of Elyria, Tom of Pittsfield, Tim of North Ridgeville and Terry of Huntington Township; 20 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren; and a brother, Edward A. Novak of Lorain.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Theodore in 2003; parents, John J. Sr. and Frances T. (nee Zore) Novak; brothers, Robert Novak, John R. Novak and Joseph Novak; and a sister Florence Truskott.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 2:00 - 6:00 pm in the Dovin Funeral and Cremation Specialists, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain with Parastas at 5:30 pm. Panachide will be Thursday at 9:30 am in the funeral home followed by Divine Liturgy at 10:00 am at St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church, 2711 W. 40th Street, Lorain. The Very Rev. Nicholas R. A. Rachford J.C.L., pastor will officiate. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon. Contributions can be made to www.woundedwarriorproject.org.
