Christa Delgado

Christa H. Delgado (nee Oest), age 88, of Lorain, died Wednesday, February 2, 2022, at Mercy Hospital, Lorain, following a short illness.

Christa was born January 3, 1934, in Germany to the late Hans Walter and Mina Elise (nee Mothes) Oest.  While living in Germany, Christa met Angel Delgado from Lorain who was stationed there in the Army.  On April 21, 1967 they married and returned to Lorain in 1968.

Christa was an amazing homemaker who loved German music and enjoyed dancing, gardening and fishing with her husband.  She worked part time as a seamstress for Dalton Industries in Lorain for 8 years.  Christa was a member of the Italian American Veterans Auxiliary and the Lorain Liedertafel Club.

Surviving is her husband of 58 years, Angel L. Delgado; and siblings, Fritz, Marianne and Hannelore, all of Germany.

Besides her parents, she was also preceded in death by her siblings, Siegfried, Wolfgang, Manfred, Kate and Dora.

Visitation will be Sunday from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral and Cremation Specialists, 2701 Elyria Ave, Lorain, where funeral services will be Monday at 1 p.m.  Rev. Rosalina Rivera, pastor of First Lutheran Church will officiate.  Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park.
