Charles Hobert Van Winkle, 77, of Lorain, passed away Wednesday, October 8, 2015 at New Life Hospice Residential Center, Lorain, following a lengthy illness.
Born February 18, 1938 in Pikeville, Tennessee, he came to Lorain in 1968. He was a member of Free Will Baptist Church, Amherst.
Surviving is his wife, Susan (nee Berg); sons, Jason of Lorain, Jerry and Terry both of Tennessee; a daughter, Regina Strausser of Lorain; 9 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; brothers, James, Earl and Richard.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Myrtle (nee Nail) Van Winkle; a brother, Paul; and sisters, Hazel Simmons and Virginia Watkins.
The family will receive friends on Sunday from 4:00 - 6:00 pm in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain. To send online condolences go to www.dovinfuneralhome.com.
