Carolyn J. Raccio

Carolyn J. Raccio (nee Chedester), age 71, a lifelong resident of Lorain, passed away Friday, October 3, 2025, at Amherst Manor Retirement Community following a short illness.

Born July 10, 1954, in Lorain, she graduated from Lorain Admiral King High School in 1972.

Carolyn worked for various restaurants in the Lorain area, including New York Grill, Chris’s Restaurant, Kansas Kitchen, Knights of Columbus, and Roman Room. She also volunteered at Homewood Elementary School in Lorain.

She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Lorain. Carolyn had many interests; she enjoyed country music, collecting, reading books, puzzles and game shows, Hallmark Channel, feeding the backyard wildlife, and spoiling her friends with gifts and cookies.

Surviving is her loving husband of 36 years, Joseph; beloved son, Vincent; and sisters, Sonia and Anna; stepsons, Joe Jr. (Brooke) and Brandon (Julia); and stepdaughter, Julie.

She was preceded in death by her brothers, Jesus Jr., this past September, and Anthony “Tony”; sisters Maria, Carmen, and Teresa; stepdaughter, Christina; as well as her pets, Dixie, Rascal, Austin, and Honeybunch.

A mass was held at St. Mary Catholic Church in Lorain, and burial took place in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
