Carol J. Avalos

Carol J. Avalos, age 64, of Lorain, passed away Sunday, November 30, 2025, at Mercy Health – Lorain Hospital.

She was born December 25, 1960, in Amherst, and lived in Lorain her entire life. She attended Lorain High School.

Carol worked at Motel 6 in Amherst in housekeeping. Prior to this, she worked at the Golden Ox restaurant in North Olmsted.

Above all, Carol treasured her family. Her son, John Malisiak Jr., along with her nieces and nephews held a special place in her heart. She was a nurturing and generous person who found immense joy in spending quality time with her loved ones, particularly indulging in moments filled with laughter and warmth while watching her nieces and nephews grow. Music also brought her great joy, and she enjoyed listening to it throughout her life.

Surviving is her son, John Malisiak Jr.; her siblings Sue Steffen, Brenda (Bill) Askew, and Frank (Tracy) Avalos; and numerous nieces and nephews who will forever remember her kindness.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Patricia Ann “Pat” (nee Gray) Avalos as well as her brother-in-law, Jack Steffen; nephew, Gabriel Perez.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2026, from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Dovin Funeral and Cremation Specialists, located at 2701 Elyria Avenue in Lorain. Your presence will be a comforting reminder of the love and support that surrounded her during her life.
