Carmen Rosa Muniz

Carmen Rosa Muniz (nee Plaza), age 86, of Flower Mound, Texas, passed away peacefully on November 15, 2021 at her residence.

Born May 5, 1935 in Junco, Puerto Rico to Juan and Angela (nee Velasquez) Plaza, she moved to Lorain in the 1950s where she lived for over 70 years before moving to Flower Mound, Texas. She was a seamstress for Joseph Feiss for 10 years until her retirement in 1978 and was a member of Sacred Heart Chapel in Lorain.

Carmen enjoyed sewing, reading, music, taking walks and traveling.

Surviving is her daughter, Sylvia Muniz; daughter in law, Emma Muniz; 6 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; brothers, Santo, Saul, Josue, Jorge, Carlos, Johnnie, Jesus and Ruben as well as her sisters, Awilda and Mickey.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Jorge Muniz Sr.; son, Jorge Muniz Jr.; both parents; brother, Angel Plaza and sister, Evelyn McGee.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, November 18 from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral & Cremation Specialists, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain and on Friday, November 19 from 8:30 a.m. until the time of Mass at 9:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Chapel, 4301 Pearl Avenue, Lorain. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
