Carmen S. Lopez (nee Rivera) 73, of Oberlin, passed away Saturday, September 9, 2017 at Mercy Allen Hospital in Oberlin following a lengthy illness.
Born April 19, 1944 in Quebradillas, Puerto Rico, she came to Lorain in the early 1960's. Carmen worked as a housekeeper at Joseph and Feiss then at Lorain Community Hospital, retiring in 1973. She was a member of Sacred Heart Chapel and enjoyed watching soap operas and cooking.
Surviving are her sons, Jeffrey of Oberlin and Modesto Jr of Lorain; 8 grandchildren and 1 great grandson; brothers, Hector Rivera of Florida and Albin Rivera of Puerto Rico and sister, Iris B. Lopez of Lorain.l
She was preceded in death by her husband, Modesto in 1987; and a daughter, Vilmaliz Crespo and sisters, Annie Perez and Iliana Nieves.
Graveside services will be Friday at 11:00 am at Calvary Cemetery, Lorain. Deacon Luis Maldonado of Sacred Heart Chapel, Lorain, will officiate. The Dovin Funeral and Cremation Specialists, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain, is handling the arrangements. To send online condolences go to www.dovinfcs.com.
