Betty Jane Jones

Betty Jane Jones (nee Painter), age 85 of Lorain, passed away unexpectedly on April 4, 2023 at her residence.

Born March 4, 1938 in Oak Hill, West Virginia to Elmer and Katie Painter, Betty moved to Ohio early in life.  She graduated from Elyria High School in 1956 and attended Oberlin Business College.  For 32 years she was a manager at JCPenney at the Midway Mall.

She loved reading, going out to eat and playing games.

Surviving is her son, Craig Jones; granddaughter, Kyle Barnes as well as several nieces.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Robert Jones; both parents as well as her brother, Elmer Elza Painter.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, April 13 at 11 a.m. at Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst, Ohio.
