Barbara J. Velez (nee Manuel) , 79, of Lorain, passed away Friday, November 6, 2015 at her residence while under the care of Grace Hospice following a short illness.
Born September 26, 1936 in Lorain, she lived in Lorain her entire life.
Barbara was a member of the Community of Christ Church, Elyria, enjoyed reading, Pokeno and spending time with her grandchildren.
Surviving are her sons, Roy Hebebrand of Gallipolis, Ohio, Jeffrey L. Velez and David Velez both of Lorain; a daughter, Jodi Santana of Washington State; 7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren; a brother, Edmund Manuel of Elyria.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edmund and Ida Mae (nee Massella) Manuel; sons, Jeffrey Allen Velez and Ernest Velez; and a brother, Ernest Manuel.
Graveside services will be Thursday at 1:00 pm at Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Twp. The Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain, is handling the arrangements. To send online condolences go to www.dovinfuneralhome.com
