Awilda Velez

Awilda Velez, age 50, of Lorain, died on Sunday, November 29, 2015 at St. John Westshore Hospital, following a lengthy illness.
She was born on March 4, 1965 in Lorain, where she resided her entire life. She attended Murray Ridge Workshop. Awilda was a member of Sacred Heart Chapel. She enjoyed swimming.
She is survived by her parents, Wilfredo and Ana Velez, of Lorain, two brothers, Wilfred Velez, of Lorain and Felix Velez of Elyria, nieces, Deanna Velez, Julia Velez, Annica Veljanovski and Ava K. Velez.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 2, 2015 from 4-8 pm in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain, where funeral services will be held on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
