Anita Rodriguez

Anita Rodriguez, age 91, of Lorain, passed away peacefully on February 10, 2024, at Welcome Nursing Home in Oberlin, Ohio.

Born May 15, 1932, in Lorain, Ohio to Leandro and Julia (nee Ortiz) Rodriguez, Anita lived in Lorain her entire life.  She worked in nutritional services at St. Joseph Hospital for 40 years before her retirement in 1995.  Anita was also a member of Sacred Heart Chapel and the Society of Guadalupe.

She enjoyed puzzles, crocheting, being the fastest tortillas maker in the land, cooking, and baking as well as attending festivals and shopping with her sister and brother-in-law.

Surviving is her sister, Maria (Raul) Agosto; brothers, Rudy Rodriguez; sisters-in-law, Donna Rodriguez, Senovia Rodriguez and Rosemary Rodriguez as well as nephews, Raul (Diane) Agosto Jr.; nieces, Maggie Agosto, Sarita Agosto and Sherry Rodriguez-Hagerman and many other nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents as well as her brothers, Roy Rodriguez, Andy Rodriguez, Charlie Rodriguez and Frank Rodriguez; her baby sister, Margarita Rodriguez; sister-in-law, Caroline Rodriguez; nephews, Roberto Agosto and Michael Rodriguez as well as her niece, Eva Rodriguez.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 15 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Dovin Funeral and Cremation Specialists, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain.  Visitation will also be held on Friday, February 16 from 8:30 a.m. until the time of Mass at 9:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Chapel, 4301 Pearl Avenue, Lorain.  Rev. William Thaden will officiate.  Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
