Ana Quinones

Ana Quinones (nee Silva) 88, beloved sister, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and aunt, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, March 7, 2022, following a lengthy illness.

Born October 20, 1933, in Peñuelas, Puerto Rico, she lived in New York before moving to Lorain in 1953.

Her number one love was for God, secondly family and anyone she came in contact with on a daily basis through her kindness.  Ana loved to help people that were disabled or unable to do things for themselves.  She worked at Good Samaritan Nursing Home for 20 years in housekeeping, retiring in 1998.  Ana also worked for Lorain City Schools in housekeeping and volunteered at Ohio Extended Care Nursing Home.

She was a member of Sacred Heart Chapel in Lorain, where she was involved in the Legion of Mary and different programs and activities.

She was a blessing to her daughters, Miriam Silva of Lorain, Iris (Brian) Nyerges of North Ridgeville, Elsa (Ken) Garrison of Lorain; sons Frank (Mildred) Silva of Minnesota, Carlos (Yvette) Silva of Sheffield Lake, Elliot (Annette) Silva of Lorain. Ana’s blessings were her 14 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren whom she loved spending time with.

Ana is survived by brothers, Ruben (Hortencia) Quinones of Puerto Rico, Alvin (Lori) Quinones of Elyria; sister, Lucy Quinones of Oregon; and many nieces and nephews.

She was proceeded in death by her parents, Mercedes and Bartolo Quinones; son, Luis Nelson Silva; grandson, Marcus Silva; granddaughter, Angelique Silva; sisters, Luisa Burgos, Olga Melendez; and a brother, Peter Quinones.

Her family will receive friends on Friday from 8:30 a.m. until the time of Mass at 9:30 am at Sacred Heart Chapel, 4301 Pearl Avenue, Lorain.  Rev. William A. Thaden will officiate. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.  The Dovin Funeral and Cremation Specialists, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain, is handling the arrangements.
