Ana Martinez

Ana M. Martinez, age 89 of Lorain, passed away peacefully on June 21, 2025, at Mercy Regional Medical Center in Lorain.

She was born April 17, 1936, in Utuado, Puerto Rico and moved to New York early in life. Ana moved to Lorain in 1976. She was a member of Sacred Heart Chapel.

Ana enjoyed cooking, sewing, word puzzles and listening to music. She especially enjoyed her time with her family.

Surviving is her husband of 67 years, Juan Jose Martinez; children, Francisco (Christine) Martinez, Lizette (Martin) Exposito Martinez, Daisy Sanchez and Margarita Rodriguez; many grandchildren and great grandchildren as well as her siblings, Jorge Carreras, Luis Carreras and Maria Hills.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Delores and Margarita (nee Santiago) Carreras; her son, Jose Enrique Martinez as well as her siblings, Berenice Rivera, Celso Carreras, Ramona Quinones, Bernanda Carreras and Isabel Carreras Colon and a son-in-law, Joel Sanchez.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Dovin Funeral and Cremation Specialists, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain. Visitation will also be held on Thursday, June 26, 2025 from 8:30 a.m. until the time of Mass at 9:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Chapel, 4301 Pearl Avenue, Lorain. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
