Alicia Soto

Alicia "Lela" Soto, age 57, of San Diego, CA, passed away after a lengthy illness, on Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at Jewish Hospital and St. Mary's Center, Louisville, KY.
She was born on October 26, 1955, in New York, NY and had also lived in Lorain. She was a member of the Chula Vista Church of Christ, in California. Alicia loved to read, draw, and be outdoors, especially to go swimming. She was also known for her affinity of shoes, which everyone who knew her admired her collection.
Alicia is survived by her son, Michael Brown, Jr., of Texas, her mother, Agueda (nee Ortiz), of Lorain, sisters; Alma (Juan) Mendoza, of Lorain, Abigail (Eric) Howard, of Elyria, and A. Ciara Ortiz, of San Diego, CA, and brother, Angel (Amy) Soto, Jr., of Acworth, GA. Alicia was like a mother to her nieces and nephews, and will be greatly missed by all of them.
She was preceded in death by her father, Angel L. Soto, in 2002.
The family will receive friends on Monday, July 15, from 4 to 8 pm, in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain, where an evening service will be held at 7:30 pm. Funeral services will also be held in the funeral home on Tuesday, at 10:00 am. The Rev. Pedro Negron, of Templo Emmanuel de las Asambleas de Dios, will officiate.
