Alar was a wonderfully pleasant and spirited person. As I knew her, she met the challenges of life with determination and a smile. I will miss her.

May God be with each of you and supply all of your needs.

Dear Burkes and Card Families,

Sorrow upon Sorrow! The grief is maddening. Our worst nightmare has become a reality in the mist of an unprecedented, deadly, pandemic of isolation.

Daddy Lannie, our grandfather, would probably encourage you by singing a favorite hymn, Come, Ye Disconsolate, by Samuel Webb:

Come, ye disconsolate, where-er ye languish;
Come to the mercy seat, fervently kneel;
Here bring your wounded hearts, here tell your anguish;
Earth has no sorrow but Heaven cannot heal.

His son, Uncle Jerry, would definitely sing, I Will Trust in the Lord, by J. Jefferson Cleveland. He would sing it to you slowly and repeatedly until you believed it too.

I will trust in the Lord, I will trust in the Lord,
I will trust in the Lord 'til I die,
I will trust in the Lord, I will trust in the Lord,
I will trust in the Lord 'til I die.

We have survived compound grief before as a family through God's grace and mercy. We will survive again by using the same effective strategy. Let's bind together again as a family and support each other on every leaning side. Our friends and community will help us through. Don't try to process through this pain alone. Reach out to someone during this season of Advent and draw on shared love, joy, hope, and peace.
Alar was a wonderful, happy, caring, and brilliant woman. She accomplished a great deal during her brief journey with us. She will be greatly missed! May our Savior's love and peace surround and guide each one of you until we meet again,

while is Gods will that our beloved cousin, mother, grandmother and friend was called by God to step through time over into eternity; we will all be sorrowful for the loss of her personality, but will rejoice that she has been granted eternal peace in a land where sorrow and trouble and sickness no longer reign. Alar will be greatly missed and loved by all who had the pleasure to know her.

To Sean Burks and her all of the Card family please know I share your loss and grief.
