Aaron Bober, 43, of Sheffield Village died November 21, 2025 after a sudden cardiac arrest. A lifelong resident of Sheffield/ Sheffield Lake and 2000 graduate of Brookside High School. He served his community as a police officer with the Sheffield Village Police Department starting January of 2004. He started in the Detective Bureau in May 2013 and was promoted to Lieutenant in July 2021. He was a Master Criminal Investigator, Firearms Instructor and Range Master for the department. He served as a Task Force Officer for the United States Marshal Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force and as a Deputy Sheriff for the Northern Border Initiative with the Lorain County Sheriff's Department. Aaron was an OPOTA Certified Instructor and taught many cadets at the LCCC Police Academy. He took great pride in serving his community and protecting the very people he grew up with.
Despite his full career, he was not defined by his profession. He was a family man to his core. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, son, brother, nephew, uncle and friend. Always quick with a joke, he loved to laugh and make people laugh. He enjoyed working on classic cars and trucks, attending car shows, fishing for steelhead and fly fishing for trout, camping, working on his home, cooking on his blackstone and being outdoors. With all of these activities he loved having his wife and girls right there with him. He enjoyed teaching the girls anything they would listen to, from fixing cars, staining wood, hooking a fish and building campfires. He loved his dog Bella who he swore had angel wings, his mutt, River and his grandcat, Jimmy.
He is preceded in death by his father, Dean Bober Sr. His maternal grandparents, Phyllis and Gary Weincke as well as his paternal grandparents, Edward and Elizabeth Bober.
He is survived by his wife and love of his life, Kaitlin Bober (nee Koepf), his daughters, Olivia (13), Lucy (11) and Frankie (6) who he loved more than anything in the world. His Mother, Julie Bober and brother Dean Bober Jr. (Tracy), nephews, Cole and Logan Bober. Aunts, Uncles, cousins and a community that cared deeply for him.
