Jorge Muniz

Jorge MuA„iz, age 85, of Lorain, passed away Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at Specialty Hospital, Amherst, following a lengthy illness.
Born February 23, 1932 in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico, he came to Lorain in 1952. Jorge worked for CSX Transportation for 43 years, retiring in 1994.
He was a member of Sacred Heart Chapel, Lorain, and enjoyed boxing, baseball, fishing and walking.
Surviving is his wife of 64 years, Carmen Rosa (nee Plaza); a daughter, Sylvia MuA„iz of Flower Mound, Texas; 6 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; and sisters, Nancy Amador of Lorain and Georgina Nazario of Las Maria, Puerto Rico.
He was preceded in death by his son, Jorge MuA„iz Jr.; parents; Jorge and Felicita (nee Medina) MuA„iz; a brother, Tony MuA„iz; and his step father, Chrispin Ortiz.
The family will receive friends on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm in the Dovin Funeral and Cremation Specialists, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain. The family will also receive friends on Friday from 8:30 am until the time of mass at 9:30 am at Sacred Heart Chapel, 4301 Pearl Avenue, Lorain. Rev. William Thaden, pastor will officiate.
