Bennie G. Haynes, age 92, of Vermilion, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at his residence.
He was born January 3, 1926 to Bennie and Myrle (nee Cooper) Haynes in Lambert Mississippi.
Bennie served in the United States Navy until 1946. He worked as an over-the-road truck driver for the E&L Trucking Company until his retirement. He loved going to the casino, fishing and above all, spending time with his family.
He is survived by his children, Douglas "Jerry", Richard (Beverly), Mike (Melanie) of Vermilion and Brenda (Alan) Crisp of Clearwater, Florida; step-son, Shawn Johnson of Amherst; 9 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren; brothers, Charles "Son", Johnny "Bo" and Archie and sisters, Mary "Tudy" Pruett, Ellen "Sissy" Walker, Ellie "Nookie" Burchfield and Carolyn "Jean" Swinford.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Hermine and second wife, Arbutus; parents; daughter, Linda Molter; son, Shannon Johnson; sisters, Marie "Sister" Bland and Doris "Pumpkin" Jones and brothers, Joel "Buddy" and Robert "Bucky" Haynes.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday at 11:00AM in Lakeview Baptist Church, 591 Ferndale Ave, Vermilion, OH. Pastor Cliff Morris will officiate.
